Careers Information, Advice and Guidance

This is the provision of impartial client-centred advice and guidance, to assist in making appropriate career decisions and choices, which are informed and well thought through. The National Careers Service provides free, professional careers information, advice, and guidance to help you move forward with your career

Pre-employment Training

Training programmes may be work-based, in the classroom, or blended.

It can include a range of courses and training to provide industry specific vocational skills to help people prepare for work.

Training programmes may be work-based or in the classroom, or both. They are offered by private training companies, colleges or employability programmes and often include work experience, introductory occupational skills, help with English and maths, and writing a CV and interviewing skills.

Pre-employment programmes can lead directly to work, or on to traineeships, apprenticeships, and degree-level education.

Upskill new & existing workforce

You may be able to access government-funded training available to SMEs to upskill and develop new and existing employees. These programmes can include a range of short or longer courses including for example, management training, digital skills, customer service, to name but a few. Some are fully funded, and some are co-funded, which means while it is subsidised by the government, it does require a contribution from the employer. Commercial options and competitive packages are available from most training providers and colleges to offer bespoke and tailored solutions for your workforce.
